Built on gutters, damp courses and done deals

SJW Construct Build began with a single van and a commitment to turn up when we said we would. Over the years, we have grown by doing the work that other firms walked past: underpinning a bay window that had started to drop, rerouting a soil stack that had been put through a bedroom, and getting a loft conversion signed off before the buyer’s survey had even been booked.

We price every phase once the surveyor has crawled the void and marked the brickwork, so the figure you see is the figure you pay unless the steel comes back heavier. Your sequence is printed and shared at the start: foundations day, pour, first fix, second fix — each one timed around your life, not the other way around.

Our site team is licensed for groundworks, drainage, carpenters’ work and the first and second fix. But the real blokes know that the battle is at five to four on a Tuesday when the client walks in and asks if the front door key is close by. That is why everything in toolboxes has a sharp edge, every upstand is taped, and every foot of scaffolding is tagged before anyone breathes in the dust of the job.

We work across a tight local radius — from terraced repairs to outbuilds that need new radon barriers — and we rarely ever bother with corporate brochures. The past ten projects have all come from a neighbour knowing a neighbor who left our van parked outside longer than expected, which is the best advert we could hope for.
