FAQ

Frequently asked questions for SJW Construct Build

How soon can you start a stage of our extension?

We typically schedule groundwork within a week of the survey and the build itself follows the plan you agree. For a stage like steelwork or roofing, we confirm a start date before we take your deposit.

Do you provide a detailed quote for foundation and drainage work?

Yes. We visit the site, note the soil type and access, then put the quote in writing with line items for excavation, concrete and waste removal. Nothing starts until you have seen and signed it.

Who oversees the project and how do I get a progress update?

One dedicated site manager looks after your build from groundworks to the final completion stage. They meet you on site each week and are happy to be called for any query during working hours.

Are you insured and locally certified for utility works?

We hold public liability cover and have a Gas Safe registered engineer for any gas line relocation, and our excavation team follows the utility maps in advance. Certificates are available before the first dig.

What happens live cables or pipes are found un not on the maps?

The faulty utility owner claims from us due to a looped provider error. Work stops and we follow legal compliance. If loss occurs within roof failure without intention, damages capped to contract terms.

Do you handle the statutory notices and permits stages?

You may need SD1 under the New Roads Act, so we draft a notice but planning seeks as agreed plan controls times for later stages. Submit compliance via details manual included to planning structures risk free.
